The decentralized nature of Web3 presents challenges in synchronizing prices across assets and platforms, crucial for maintaining transparency and trust and enabling seamless trading experiences. However, high latency in oracle pricing has resulted in DeFi users losing assets and trust, and dApps providing inaccurate price information, emphasizing the need for reliable solutions to enhance DeFi platform resilience.
With this in mind, War of Coins has implemented additional measures to address discrepancies and latencies across exchanges, aiming to supply traders with the most accurate and up-to-date spot prices within our pricing model and option maturity prices.
The War of Coins pricing model is designed to translate historical fluctuations in cryptocurrency prices into profit ladders. To maintain accuracy, we integrate a robust price oracle into our platform that provides real-time pricing data from major cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, KuCoin, and ByBit. This allows us to aggregate both price and volume data, providing users with reliable pricing information as follows:
Volume: The total volumes from all CEXs are summarized. Closing price: The closing price is calculated by summing the product of price and volume and dividing it by the sum of the volumes.
It's worth noting that the exchanges we utilize for price data may be subject to change at any time.
Traders depend on real-time pricing updates to make decisions quickly and rationally. Even minor delays in getting precise price information might lead to missed opportunities or unfavourable transactions in a turbulent market.
Along the same lines, real-time price updates also allow traders and investors to effectively manage their risk exposure by promptly adjusting their positions in response to market movements. Without timely price information, it becomes challenging to accurately assess and mitigate risks.
DeFi applications often involve intricate financial activities like lending, borrowing, and trading. To ensure that users obtain fair value for their assets, precise price feeds are essential for executing transactions at the intended rates.
Updates on prices in real-time promote market transparency. A more knowledgeable and effective trading environment is promoted by users’ ability to watch and evaluate price changes as they occur. Any delay or error undermines this transparency.
Traders often leverage arbitrage opportunities by comparing prices on several platforms. For these possibilities to be recognized and capitalized on, real-time pricing updates are essential. Postponements may reduce or eliminate the opportunity for lucrative arbitrage.
